And so for some god aweful reason I've decided to start a chittering horde. Got an order coming from the UK with a heap of stuff so only got 9 Stormvermin at the moment. These 9 will be joined by about another 120 models in the next few weeks hopefully which will be the solid base for my army. I will hopefully post pictures up on here to show you the slow progress. I havent thought of a theme yet. Just wanted a dark skin color and rusty armor. I also have yet to decide whether to have a uniform look or a mob look with regard to cloth colors.

heres a picturs of a stormvermin. (pics are not the best, camera is playing up.)

He is almost finished. Stuff left to do are highlights on his tail, belt and halberd shaft and then the base.

looking for feedback on skin tones, the yellow (is it too harsh?), the rusting (first time trying out stippling) and the overall feel. The pictures are not the best so its not an exact representation. the pictures make the paint look blotchy for some reason. Its actually quite smooth in person.

thanks guys.

Use a human flesh tone for the skin would be best

do you mean add a flesh tone to the mix to lighten it or to stop doing brown and do pinkish color? I was trying to get black rats and this is the closest i got to it.

Agreed on the flesh tone for face hands and tail, the contrast will make the model pop a lot more.

Yep I think the yellow is a bit too bright. Given the rest of the model is in muted grimy tones the yellow really overpowers it. I'd go with a less bright colour, or you could try washing it more with devlan mud.

yea definatley do the change for the skin, and if you dont feel like changing the sceme you could always chuck a dark brown or black wash over the yellow?

looks pretty cool - though I think you need to cut the flag up a bit to remove that symmetry look personally

Nice BSB, that's one HUGE banner! Agree with Stephen though for different reason - the pennant style flags on the sides are fluttering in opposite directions at the same time, which is what makes it look wrong.
