obviously rules need some tweaking, but i do indeed like the idea of 3 player free-for-alls. not so keen on the tower idea these guys used. whats everyone elses view?
thinking it could work better for a points based system though. Everyone prints out cards with point values of each of their units. When you get a unit destroyed by one of the other players just hand over that card to that player. At the end count up what units you have left + the units you've killed (easy to work out since you've been keeping track during game via the cards). Then extra points for holding the middle (table quarters seems silly given the situation), slain generals etc as normal.
Could set up quite easily by having 2 players in corners of a normal table, with the third in the middle off to the other side (all equal distances away obviously). There'll need to be much less terrain to take into account the increased havoc.
If you generate say 5 DD, then that will be all you will generate until your next turn, so you could use all 5 against one players magic phase, or split them however you see fit. (in that way armies with overpowered magic will likely be put in their place as both other players will just use all DD against him) _________________ "I've been watchin birds more than insects recently, and the thing I've found with pigeons is: they've got wings but they walk a lot" |

Hi, I've had a couple of 3 player games recently that worked well, the details for setup etc are in the warhammer chronicles 2003. We used the suggested magic setup of having your normal power dice but only 1 base dispel dice, and using the bidding system to work out who got to attempt to dispel (the opposing players write down how many dispel dice or scroll and the highest trys) also one point if you do use this is to decide how the miscast that lets your opponents cast a free spell works, i think only the owning target should get to cast a spell whereas one other player thought both opposing players should get to cast one, perhaps roll a dice to see who gets it.
If you want i could try to find the info for 3 players games. |
